Is it illegal to make food at home then sell it?

I wanted to sell muffins im 14 so i cant get a job, but my dad said its illegal because you could drug them, first why would i drug them? lol he also said cops might think of a reason to arrest you? my dad isnt a cop, so idk iff i should believe him...
