Mass Effect 2 - Romancing Garrus, help!?

I've beaten his loyalty mission and chosen the right answers... except for one. From what I've read, choosing the option that you don't want to ruin your friendship with Garrus is a way to ruin the romance. Unfortunately, I chose this without knowing that it would effect it so much. Now he never talks to me. Can I still get the scene? I don't have an earlier save and I just finished the IFF mission, so I'm starting to think I screwed it up.
