Should I use if or iff?

I think that in mathematics, as in ordinary life, we often say "if " when "iff " would be correct WHEN the distinction does not matter. I think "iff " is only realy used when it is important to do so because "if " would make a big difference. I don't think it makes much difference in the case you mention because it is the right arrow that is important.
